Britepaths’ Collect for Kids Back to School Program

While most of us are still enjoying summer break, Britepaths is busy collecting supplies to help children in Fairfax County be prepared for the start of a new school year. In fact, they will be helping 2,500 school aged kids who attend Fairfax County Public Schools have the necessary supplies to succeed as they head back to class this fall.

If you would like to help out, you can do so by donating Backpacks – Large, sturdy backpacks are most needed or Calculators – New or gently used TI-30xa Solar School Edition or TI-84.

They have teamed up with the following awesome businesses and organizations who have signed up to be a Backpack Collection Site. You can stop by any of these establishments from July 1-August 3, 2018 and look for the Britepaths donation box.

Where most families spend $40 or more for supplies for each child, they spend approximately $10-$15 per student on supplies. Britepaths’ Collect for Kids Back to School Program runs each summer in partnership with Collect for Kids in a County-wide effort to ensure that children in our community whose families are struggling receive the supplies they need to succeed in school. The program is made possible through a partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools, the Fairfax County Office of Public and Private Partnerships, Apple Federal Credit Union and numerous community-based organizations and businesses in the Fairfax County area who are working together to provide supplies in a more cost-effective and efficient way.

For questions about the program, please contact Joanne Walton at jwalton@britepaths.org or 703.273.8829. To learn more about Britepaths and the important work they do in our community, please visit their website here.

Thank you for helping our local families and children!
