VolunteerFest 2018

Registration for VolunteerFest 2018 is now open! VolunteerFest is a region-wide day of community service held every October in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day and organized by Volunteer Fairfax. VolunteerFest mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to help nonprofits accomplish tasks that they would not have the time or resources to do on their own. It’s a great opportunity for families, organizations and community members to come together to serve others. Projects include cleaning up parks, preparing for holiday events, assembling care packages, visiting assisted living facilities, yard cleanup for hospice patients, stocking and organizing food pantries, delivering food, assisting with the Help the Homeless Walk, gleaning (collecting fruit that’s fallen from the trees) at Hollin Farms, stream cleanup and more! Many activities are family and kid friendly. To find out more and to register, please visit the VolunteerFest website here. Registration closes on October 19, 2018. While VolunteerFest will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018, some projects may take place between October 20 – 28.
