Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe

This is my favorite recipe for homemade salsa. It’s so fast and easy to make and is always a hit. It’s even better in the summer when you can use fresh ingredients from the farmers market. Tastes great with tortilla chips or on tacos, fajitas or quesadillas. This will keep in the refrigerator for a few days.

Ingredients:

1 pound fresh ripe tomatoes, cut into pieces
1 onion, chopped in pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced (I use the kind in the jar)
4-ounce can chopped green chilies
1 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed
Juice of 1 lime
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon cumin
A little sugar
Optional: Green pepper or any other peppers you like

Combine all ingredients in the food processor and mix until desired consistency. If you prefer chunky salsa, you can chop up ingredients with a knife instead.

Notes: The fresh cilantro has a strong flavor so you can use more or less depending on your taste. Also, I add just a sprinkle of sugar to give the salsa a little extra flavor, but that’s optional. Enjoy!
